My lil' pun-kins!

My husband and I took our kids to the Pumpkin Patch this past Friday and I just wanted to share a few of the photos with yous guys! This is Miss. "L's"  first Halloween. She had a grand time trying to put everything in her mouth. My boys were in no mood for a photo session so I'm thankful for the photos I did snap! Enjoy!

Oh baby!

A few months ago I tried my hand at newborn photography. I absolutely love the way a baby looks posed while sleeping! This is Baby "J" and he only slept for about 10 minutes of his session so posing was not an option. He reminded me of my daughter. Every time I would move a leg, he would move it back to where it was before. If I tried to get a shot from a different angle, he would turn ALL the way around and look at me. He was only 9 days old. Silly boy! I still enjoyed my session with sweet baby "J" and I hope you enjoy the snap shots!

Daddy's girl

Talk about a good looking family! Little Miss "E" didn't have any photos with her daddy and I was lucky enough to snap some for her! She is one silly little chica! She has so much attitude and a huge personality! At the end of our session daddy let her play with the water hose and she was in two year old heaven! I wish my daddy was as cool as hers! I hope you like them!

Isn't she "Precious"?

I love photographing children! I never really had the opportunity to photograph my boys when they where little so I guess I live through others in a way. I want to capture a face parents don't want to forget or that toothless smile that could melt an iceberg (it would be a vampire smile for Miss "A", no two top front teeth)! I want a parent to look at a photo I took and be able to remember exactly how stinky those little toes were and remember how she refused to put that cookie down...even after it fell on the floor a few times. I want nothing more than to photograph all the love that fills your heart to put on display to share with everyone. Isn't she beautiful? Enjoy Precious and Ruben!

OK, now smile! Bigger...bigger....not that big.

I had my first session with someone over the age of 10 last week! Go me! I really enjoyed it. I think one of the difficult parts of being a photographer is posing a model. This gorgeous girl didn't need too much help. Either way, I'm still going to practice my model faces in the mirror. I hope you like these snap shots!

A face only a mother could love!

I think every mother believes she has the most beautiful and sweetest kids in the world. Lucky for me I'm a photographer and I can prove it! Take a look at these handsome little boogers! These are my two boys, "A" and "C". It's not too often they stay still long enough for me to photograph them so I really love these. Enjoy!

Kids say the darndest things...

While shooting a session with these three cuties I had the youngest ask me "why are we taking picture? I'm tired of smiling!" After explaining his mommy wanted nice pictures of him his response was "my mom takes pictures of me all the time and I always look nice". Oh, to be three again. I miss being able to be a smarty pants and it be extremely cute! I had a blast photographing the "M" boys. Here are just a few of the snap shots! Enjoy!

Um, I don't really know what colors I like...

One thing I've learned about starting your own small business is that you need to have an identity. Some people just have their name, or an icon and that's fine, but I wanted something more.

I was recently in the market for a logo and an identity package to go along with my oh so clever name (I'm still pretty high on myself for that one thank-you-very-much). I showed a very dear friend of mine some past work of the person I was thinking of hiring to do my logo, and he made an interesting point. The logos that this person had done had absolutely nothing to do with the actual person or the services they offered.

Luckily for me this very dear friend of mine also happens to be my favorite artist. Ever. He volunteered to come up with some ideas for me and within an hour he sent over a few sketches of his idea. What he proposed was playing more into the fun and playful aspect of my personality (it's there. Somewhere).

He actually surprised me by doing the logo in full color and incorporating a cardinal into the logo for personal reasons. We went back and forth on whether or not I should wear glasses since I do in real life. I thought they looked kind of goofy but he insisted. He won.

Anyway, here it is in all it's glory. It still needs some refining but I pretty much love it with all of my heart.

Enjoy!

I've never had more than one thing to showcase my work

I just recently signed up for a blogspot account and it's taken me forever to get this thing up and running. I've really never had anything "serious" to showcase my photos on, and since I'm HTML illiterate, I figured this was a simple and effective solution to the problem.

From here on out this is where I will post all of my photography for your viewing pleasure. Along the way I'll probably include some in-depth writings, random thoughts, and maybe a haiku or two just to keep things interesting.

If you're interested in photography or the arts in general then I invite you to follow my simple little page. Who knows, you might find something you like.

Enjoy!
